  • Comprehensive plans last for about 20 years, and they guide decisions made by city staff and the City Council on how our city grows and develops. For example, our comprehensive plan helps us evaluate development proposals that come to the City (like rezoning requests and development plans). The comprehensive plan also informs our public investment decisions (like where the city should build new roads). Because development and land use are related to many different policy areas the city works on, the comprehensive plan covers a wide range of topics (like housing and transportation).

Please answer the following questions related to housing and the services the city provides to residents to add your voice to Kansas City’s new comprehensive plan, the KC Spirit Playbook!
