Mobility Strategy Sessions
Consultation has concluded
BACKGROUND
Mobility is one of four Strategy Session topics that will help distill existing policy, ongoing engagement, and high level discussion into a set of policy proposals. Those policies will then be bolstered by action steps devised by the KC Spirit Playbook planning staff and refined through public input and discussion.
If you aren't able to attend a Strategy Session, you can always still participate by completing the surveys at the bottom of this page.
Topics to be covered at Mobility Strategy Sessions are centered on the theme of "what the city can control," and include:
- Streetscapes and Roadway Design Standards
- Parkways and Boulevards
- Active Transportation - Transit, Walking, and Biking
- Safety
- Equity and Historic Inequities
- Transportation, Land Use, and Real Estate Development
- Freight - Air, Rail, Trucks, Curb Use

THIRD MOBILITY STRATEGY SESSION - COMPLETED
On September 22nd, 2021, City Planning & Development staff held the third of several Mobility strategy sessions to identify priorities and policies that will comprise the final KC Spirit Playbook. This meeting was different from our last Mobility strategy session in that instead of answering a series of questions, attendees were broken into groups and discussed Mobility from a more personal aspect. Each group created a "Persona" and described how that person gets around the city today and what would lead to their transportation needs being met by 2040.

FOURTH MOBILITY STRATEGY SESSION - COMPLETED
On December 16, 2021, City Planning & Development staff held a Mobility strategy session at which staff presented a series of draft recommendations for the KC Spirit Playbook that are related specifically to Mobility issues. These draft recommendations are not final. Staff has put these recommendations together based on a variety of data, feedback from subject matter experts, and extensive public engagement. All of the draft Mobility recommendations for the comprehensive plan are available for review and comment in a set of surveys at the bottom of this page. Here are some quick links to those surveys so you can make your voice heard on these recommendations: Speed and Safety / Transit, Bikes, and Pedestrians / Efficiency and Freight / Transparency and Implementation
