A carbon neutral, equity-focused, and resilient Kansas City by 2040.

In 2020, City Council passed Resolution 200005, directing the City to update the 2008 Climate Protection Plan to include new greenhouse gas reduction goals, resiliency, and equity. The result will be a Climate Protection and Resiliency Plan that details strategies to reduce Kansas City's contribution to climate change, and approaches to help our community adapt to the climate-related impacts we are already experiencing.

We are currently in the Collaborate & Explore phase. Click the green bar to join the conversation!

Though we have moved to the next phase of the planning process, you can still share your climate stories to the Listen & Learn tab. The listening phase will continue throughout plan development and beyond!
