This phase focuses on listening to and learning from the community about how climate change is impacting or may impact Kansas City. Climate change does not affect everyone equally and your experiences are important to share to help us build a more resilient city.

During Phase 1, we want to hear from you. Share your climate story, complete the climate change impacts survey, and contribute your experiences and ideas to the climate issues and opportunities map. Encourage your friends, family members, and coworkers to participate too.

If your group or organization would like to request a presentation or would like to host a listening session, please email us at OEQ@KCMO.ORG. Also, please share with us any upcoming climate-related community events or activities that you think we should attend.

Climate Issues and Opportunities Map

about 1 year

To create a Kansas City that is resilient to climate change we need to know what climate related impacts you have or are currently experiencing. Add pins to the map to share:

  1. The location of climate-related issues that are of concern to you. Tell us what have you experienced, how often, and when.
  2. Where opportunities exist to build a more climate-resilient Kansas City. Share why these opportunities would benefit the community.
  3. Where climate action "wins" and success stories have occurred and why you think the initiative is successful.
